Experience 1:
Dong Family Cooking

Half-Day (8:00 am – 1:30 pm)
You will meet at Dong’s family home near Hoi An Ancient Town or may be picked up by motorbike. You will join Dong and a member of his family for a 5-minute walk to the local market where you will experience the sights, sounds and smells of the busy Hoi An marketplace. Great photo opportunity! Dong will teach you how to bargain in the market and introduce you to herbs and other ingredients used in Vietnamese traditional cooking. You will return to his house by boat and relax while enjoying refreshing cold tea or special Vietnamese coffee. You will then enjoy a unique and memorable experience joining Dong’s family in cooking a traditional family-style Vietnamese meal. You will learn how to cook 4 special Hoi An dishes. Menu items vary by season. Vegetarian meal available by request. A sample menu might include: Banana flower Salad, Spring Rolls, Cao Lau (special pork-noodle Hoi An dish), and Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf.

Experience 2:
Bike Tour & Cooking

Half-Day Tour (8:00 am – 1:30 pm)
Dong will meet you at your hotel to bicycle to the beautiful Tra Que Herb Village, a charming little farm village, located just a few kilometers Northeast of Hoi An. This is a wonderful photo opportunity as you relax, enjoy the beautiful atmosphere, take in the fresh air, and feel the peace of a traditional Vietnamese village. Dong will show you how the local farmers cultivate the herbs and will tell you about local life in Hoi An. You will then bike to the fish market and the Hoi An market to buy ingredients for lunch. Around 10:30 a.m., you will arrive at Dong’s house to enjoy some cold tea, water, and coffee. You will then enjoy a memorable and unique experience while joining Dong’s family in cooking a traditional Vietnamese family meal. A typical meal might include: Cao Lau (special pork-noodle Hoi An soup), Hoi An Rice Pancake, Stir-Fried Morning Glory with Garlic, and Fried Spring Rolls. Vegetarian meal available by request.

Experience 3:
Breakfast &
Motorbike Tour

3 Hours (7:30-10:30 a.m.)
Dong will pick you up at your hotel by motorbike. He will take you to a local coffee shop to enjoy coffee and will explain breakfast options in Hoi An. Once you have made your selection, Dong will take to you breakfast. After you have enjoyed your breakfast, he will take you around Hoi An, including a tour of the countryside to see the sunrise, rice fields, and the sights and sounds of traditional village life in the countryside. He will drop you off at your hotel around 10:30 a.m. Beat the heat and enjoy the beauty and peaceful nature of morning life in the countryside of Hoi An.

Experience 4:
Street Food Tour

3.5-4 hours (3:30 pm – 7/7:30 pm)
Dong will pick you up at your hotel. You will go and enjoy coffee while he discusses options and designs what you would like to see and try. From there, Dong will take you around Hoi An to enjoy the delicious local street food. A trip to Vietnam is not complete without tasting the wonderful street food. Being nearly halfway between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, this is the perfect place to experience Vietnamese cuisine and influences. Get off the tourist path and go with a local to explore the best options that others miss. This tour also includes a tour of the local countryside by motorbike where you will see the rice fields and local village life or he can take you to the local beach where you can enjoy the ocean. He will drop you off at your hotel at the conclusion of the tour.
